Mergozzo e dintorni EN
Mergozzo is a little village where the historical and cultural traditions of the past have survived intact to the present day. Overlooking the lake of the same name with its crystal clear waters and surounded by beautiful scenery, it is a charming place.
Situated in the heart of Verbano Cusio Ossola, it enjoys a favourable geographical position close to Central Europe, only a five-minute-drive from the motorway, about an hour from Milan and neighbouring Switzerland and just over half an hour from the international airport of Milan Malpensa.
The hinterland is rich in scenery and landscapes including the Borromee islands, the Botanical Gardens of villa Taranto on Lake Maggiore; Orta on the lake of the very same name with the island of Saint Julio; Mount Rosa, the Toce waterfall, Valgrande national park and the thermal baths of Premia and Bognanco.
Pure uncontaminated nature to absorb, culture and history to be discovered and grasped, food and wine to taste and savour.
Whatever the season our position is strategic for excursions of all kinds : the Lakes Maggiore, Orta and Mergozzo and the Ossola valleys. Our area abounds in localities famous for their characteristic beauty and rich in history and culture.
Not to be forgotten is the fact that we are at a stone’s throw from Valgrande national park, the largest wilderness area in Italy. A natural green belt where nature reigns supreme free from pollution.
